VRLA Battery Storage and Maintenance Recommendations

1.Requirements for batteries:the best storage temperature of the VRLA battery is 10~ 25℃ (too high temperature will accelerate the self-discharge of the VRLA battery)The storage place

should be clean, ventilated, dry, and avoid direct sunlight or excessive humidity.

2.The warehouse must carry out first-in, first-out management, and must give priority to sales

and shipment of batteries with long storage time to avoid VRLA battery failure due to long storage

time. The warehouse management personnel can mark the date of the goods when they arrive,

so as to facilitate later.

3. The VRLA battery voltage should be checked every three months after the sealed

maintenance-free batteries arrive in the warehouse. If does not sell out of batteries for half

year ,The voltage is lower than 12.6v, please discharge the VRLA battery and recharge. If the VRLA battery

not charged or discharged, the VRLA battery may not work normally.

4.Start your vehicles irregularly and check that the lights are turned off in time to avoid the

VRLA battery out of the power can’t be start .

Charging and discharging steps are as follows:

(1)6V series:

Charging: Charging voltage 7.2V-7.4V; Charging current:0.1C; Constant voltage charging

time: 4 hours.

Discharging: Discharging current:0.1C, Discharge end voltage:5.25V/pc

Charging: Charging voltage:7.2V-7.4V, charging current:0.1C, Constant voltage charging

time:10-15 hours

(2)12V series:

Charging: Charging voltage 14.4V-14.8V; Charging current:0.1C; Constant voltage charging

time: 4 hours.

Discharging: Discharging current:0.1C, Discharge end voltage:10.5V/pc

Charging: Charging voltage:14.4V-14.8V, charging current:0.1C, Constant voltage charging

time:10-15 hours

4.How to keep car battery warm in winter？If VRLA battery is exposed in low temperature in winter for a

long time, the internal plate will shows various degrees oxidation phenomenon. The solution

is adding electrolyte and charge batteries for thirty minutes, before using batteries(charging

voltage 14.4V-14.8V, charging current :0.1C), which can avoid large internal resistance and

insufficient starting capacity affect VRLA battery use normally.

5.Do not reverse the VRLA battery. Inverted batteries may cause valve safety vents leak acid

phenomenon. If acid leakage is found, please take out the VRLA battery and dry it as soon as

possible to avoid the chain reaction of VRLA battery leakage. (if there is leakage, please dry the

VRLA battery in time and replenish electricity).
